Four weeks ago, Mr. Alfons Hörmann informed you of his intention to leave the company as Chairman of the Board of Management of CREATON AG at the middle of the year in order to pursue new professional challenges in the future.
In the course of its today’s meeting, the Executive Board of CREATON AG appointed Mr. Stephan Führling as the new C.E.O. of CREATON AG. Mr. Stephan Führling will succeed Mr. Alfons Hörmann on July 1, 2010. Mr. Alfons Hörmann will continue the business activity as usual and ensure the smooth transfer until June 30, 2010. The Executive Board would like to take the opportunity to again express its deepest gratitude to Mr. Alfons Hörmann for his many years of successful activity and his standing dedication to the company.
As a business school graduate, Mr. Stephan Führling (46) started his professional career in 1990 in the business auditing and advisory department of today’s PricewaterhouseCoopers AG. In 1995, he changed his position to become the Commercial Director of the Eternit group of companies in Germany, an association of companies that is part of the ETEX Group since 1990. In the course of the years to follow, he took on the management of various domestic and foreign companies within the Eternit Group and in 2003, the Sales Management of the Roof/Façade/Finishings Department. In 2004, he was appointed C.E.O. of Eternit AG.
He continued his professional career in 2006 with a change to the HeidelbergCement Group, where he took on the General Management of all German activities in connection with dry mortar and construction chemistry comprised under the brands of „maxit“ and „Deitermann“ within the country and abroad. After the acquisition of the maxit Group by Saint-Gobain, he became the Managing Director Sales/Marketing of the Saint-Gobain Weber GmbH in 2009, a company that emerged from the consolidation of the two German subsidiary companies. In addition, Mr. Führling committed himself in his responsible position to the interests of building material suppliers in numerous associations.
As of April 1, 2010, Mr. Stephan Führling is now appointed C.E.O. of CREATON AG. We look forward to having found an experienced building material expert to take on this responsible task and wish him continued success and fortunate decisions at all times.
The well-proven CREATON team will, of course, stand ready at your disposal at all times and as usual according to our motto "naturally setting the tone".
